Plot #3

Sketch is the new flash fiction. This time our serious students of English Language & Literature at UFRN produced  some -awesome- plots and characters. Take a look at [the sketch without a title] and say what you think about it.

CHARACTERS DESCRIPTIONS:

Kyle - A patient at Dam Yzarc Psychiatric Hospital. He tends to believe in and even to make conspiratory theories. He is friend with Chris.

Chris  - Another patient at the hospital who is schizophrenic.

Andrew - A new patient at the hospital and a former successful businessman. He had a nervous collapse after losing a large amount of money at the stock market for having listened to some ‘voices’ in his head.

Sarah - A nurse at the hospital who hates her job. Her dream is to be a physician, but she didn’t pass the exams to enter Medical School.

Jack - Andrew’s cousin who is trying to get a loan from him.

PLOT

At Dam Yzarc Psychiatric Hospital Chris and Kyle meet and chat. Kyle says the nurse gave him some M&M’s, then Chris shows a display of tablets and tells they’re not M&M’s but buttons. Suddenly, Andrew is coming straight to them. Kyle warns Chris about Andrew being mad and dangerous, then Kyle and Chris start “acting naturally” (doing things that there’s nothing to do with natural acting). When Andrew comes closer, Chris and Kyle tell lame excuses and flee. In this moment, Sarah approaches him alongside Jack, Max’s relative.

Jack are chatting  (the visitor came to ask some money to Max) until the nurse comes back to end the visiting time. Chris and Kyle see the three of them leaving and start conniving about Andrew’s intentions to Jack and Sarah. Kyle tells Chris that Andrew has an evil plan to kill Jack. Chris and Kyle decide to save Jack by putting some “M&M’s” in Andrew’s glass for him to sleep. Jack drinks from Andrew’s glass by accident and drops unconscious. Sarah suddenly gets mad and starts screaming that Jack is her secret boyfriend. She leaves quickly telling the patients she’s gonna take care of them. When she comes back, she really “takes care” of them, then she goes away complaining about her job. Afterwards, Jack wakes up all alone and starts pitying himself.

Plot #2 - Dangeous and Dragons

Sketch is the new flash fiction. This time our serious students of English Language & Literature at UFRN produced  some -awesome- plots and characters. Take a look at Dangeous and Dragons and say what you think about it. Yup, this is a parody of the old cartoon “Dungeons and Dragons”. 

PLOT: The chosen kids finally went back to their world. Ten years had passed and they started to miss that world of fantasy. That feeling makes them get together after all these years and start to think of a way to come back to that different and yet amazing world.

Characters description

Daniella Marinho : Sheila
    She got married,had 3 kids and work as a pediatrician. The only one with a normal life  of the group,she tries to make the others see that come back to that world is impossible.

Claudinere Silva : Erick
    He used to live with his rich father and won everything that he wanted. But,his father company broke and Erick became poor and broke as well.(my father's name will be Marcos Matsunaga?)

Afonso Santos : Hank
    After he left the other world,he got really sad and started to eat lots of junk food. So,he became really fat.

Sander Felipe: Presto
    Missing the magic from the other realm, Presto now searches comfort in voodoo. He wants now to become the Master of Mages of this world.

Luíza Donata: Bob

In their way back to home something went wrong and Bob turned into a girl! Now he/she is discovering the new things of your life.

Nathália Silva: Diana
    After coming back, Diana couldn't find your place in this world, so she ran away from her house and now she’s involved with... you know... some other things.(Drugs)

Plot #1 - PTA meeting

Sketch is the new flash fiction. This time our serious students of English Language & Literature at UFRN produced  some -awesome- plots and characters. Take a look at PTA meeting and say what you think about it.

PTA meeting

In a PTA meeting at an Elementary School, a teacher and a few parents discuss some problems the kids are going through. A single mother arrives late and tries to fit in the conversation by accusing other parents, which generates an uncomfortable discussion among them all. However, the arriving-late-mom finds herself losing an argument against an annoying couple and another single parent. She ends up being called a negligent mother. After the huge conflict is created, the school principal is invited in by the teacher to solve the problem and put an end to the tension. The principal finds out that the alleged negligent mother is actually a little bit irresponsible, since she didn’t realize at first that she was in the wrong room: the PTA meeting was meant for parents of 1st graders, as opposed to her own child, who is in the 6th grade. The late mom leaves the room, and the principal brings up a sensitive subject that had been already discussed (not in a polite way) before.

Characters:

[Jorge] Mr. Clifford Prince (School principal) - A sensible, practical and very hard-working professional, who takes his job very seriously. He is very reasonable and he's always able and willing to solve predicaments.

[Monaliza] Alison Trumble (Teacher) - A sweet and kind elementary school teacher. She loves her job and loves to be around children. But she despises any kind of conflict, which makes her sort of a pushover.

[Raiza] Michaela Jackson (Single mother) - A single mother who is a little bitter towards men in general and also towards happy couples. Because of that, she can sometimes be a little rude to people and she doesn't really think twice before saying anything to them. She is not really skilled at the whole single-parenting thing.

[Leandro] Mr. Sentrygo Shepherd - A business man with a busy schedule. He loves his family very much, though and to compensate for the fact he can't always be with them he will do absolutely everything his wife and son ask him to do. He is usually a very calm person, except when someone says anything bad about his family.

[Vaneska] Mrs. Sandra Shepherd - A sort of obsessive compulsive housewife. She only cares for her husband and son and does not often show any kind of empathy or sympathy towards other people. She can also be a little oppressive sometimes.

[Ud] Robert "Bobby" Smith - A stay-at-home single father. He likes talking about his kids and has a great sense of humor, which not everybody understands. He is likely to be the one trying to make all bad situations funny. He can sometimes be a little bit annoying.
